Center

1. Season & working hours

We are open all year round 365 days a year.
Working hours daily: 09:00 AM - 05:00 PM

2. LOCATION

Duotone Pro Center El Gouna is situated on the premises of Casa Cook El Gouna and is dedicated to the guests of Casa Cook El Gouna and Cooks Club El Gouna (although guests from other hotels are always welcome). The marina of El Gouna, featuring various shops and bars, is only a 5-minute Tuk Tuk ride from Casa Cook.

3. First aid / medical help / safety

We have a first aid kit at the center. The team is trained in safety measures / first aid. El Gouna hospital is the closest hospital for medical treatments (5.0 km distance).

4. Shop

We provide used kitesurfing equipment for sale and have a small on-site shop stocked with stylish clothing from brands such as Duotone, Roxy, Ion, and other reputable surf brands. Additionally, we offer hats, towels, rash guards, and various other accessories. Feel free to explore our selection!

5. Food & Beverage at the center?

You can order your coffee or lunch from the beach bar at Casa Cook and have it delivered to the chill-out area at the center.

6. WIFI / Internet

Yes, there is free wireless internet at the center, so you can always be connected.

7. Restrooms / Shower

There are restrooms and changing rooms directly at the center as well as outdoor showers with hot water.

LESSONS

8. For which kind of water sports do you offer lessons?

Kiteboarding, Kitefoiling, Wing Foiling and SUP (Stand Up Paddling)

9. In which languages do you offer lessons?

English, German, French, Arabic and more on request

10. Maximum number of participants for a lesson?

We only offer private and semi-private lessons. So the maximum number of participants for a lesson is two, as we believe in quality over quantity.

11. Certificates / License

After the successful termination of your kiteboarding course you can purchase a VDWS or IKO license.

12. Necessary level of experience?

We offer kiteboarding courses from absolute beginner level up to advanced level and wing foil lessons for beginners.

EQUIPMENT

13. Equipment rental?

We offer kitesurfing and wing foil equipment from Duotone as well as Fanatic SUP boards for rental:

  • 60 Duotone kites from 3m up to 17m
  • 40 Duotone boards from 132 to 165
  • 8 Duotone wings
  • 6 Fanatic wing foilboards
  • ION Accessories such as harnesses, helmets, jackets, wetsuits & shoes
  • 12 Fanatic SUP boards
14. Equipment Storage place?

We have 36 storage lockers for your equipment where you can store one board and three kites. Furthermore, you can find small lockers close to the reception to store your small belongings such as phone or watch during your kite session. 

15. Compressor (to pump the kites)?

We have a compressor to pump your kite as well as normal pumps. 

16. Kite equipment repair?

Tubes and small repairs can be done in the center, bigger kite or board repairs can be organized as well.

18. Do I need to bring my own wetsuit and harness?

We offer ION wetsuits and harnesses for rental if you don't have your own. However, we recommend that you bring your personal harness and wetsuit. In spring and autumn, a shorty wetsuit is advisable, while in winter months, a long wetsuit is recommended. Bringing your own gear is advantageous as you are familiar with it, and it doesn't add much weight when traveling by plane.

19. Possibility of washing and drying my equipment (kites, bars, wetsuits etc.)?

Yes, we do have a washing and drying are, where you can clean your equipment after your kite session or before you are flying back home.

WIND & WEATHER

20. What is the best website to check the wind forecast?

We recommend using wisuki & windfinder, as you will get a good overview of wind and tides at the same time.

21. Do you have a live weather station?

Yes, we do. You can check the wind directly on our weather display at our center or at www.windfinder.com

22. Do you have a webcam?

Yes, we do. You can check it our here.

BOOKING

23. Can I book online?

Yes, you can book online through our booking tool.

24. How can I pay my pre-booking?

Payments for pre-booking can be made using either a credit card or PayPal.

25. Can I cancel my booking?

Yes you can. Please note the cancellation policy.

The following charges apply to all confirmed reservations with the company:

  • Up to 31 days before the travel date: 25% of the booking will be charged.
  • From 30 to 25 days before the travel date: 40% of the booking will be charged.
  • From 24 to 18 days before the travel date: 50% of the booking will be charged.
  • From 17 to 11 days before the travel date: 60% of the booking will be charged.
  • From 10 to 4 days before the travel date: 80% of the booking will be charged.
  • From 3 to 1 day before the travel date: 90% of the booking will be charged.
  • On the travel date or in case of no-show, 100% of the booking will be charged.

Please be mindful of the cancellation policy.

26. Can I book/pay directly at the center?

Certainly! You can book directly at the center, but please be aware that the availability for lessons and courses may be limited if you book on the spot. Payments can be made using Visa/MasterCard or in cash. We prefer Visa/MasterCard.

INSURANCE

27. Do you offer insurance for the equipment?

We reccomend insurance from VDWS for just €39,00 per year and then your rental gear is insured worldwide no matter at which center you rent your equipment from.

28. What happens if I damage the equipment?

To make sure that you get the best equipment available we check the equipment each time before you go on the water. If you crash a board or kite we will charge you the damage costs. We issue you an invoice for the damage or replacement of the product, so you can claim it on your insurance when you are back home.

29. Is the equipment insured?

No, you have to make sure that you are covered for damage to the equipment by an insurance or cover the costs of the repair or replacement of damaged equipment by yourself. We recommend the insurance from VDWS for just €39,00 per year and then your rental gear is insured worldwide no matter a which center you rent your equipment from.
